In the next few days, 2 million doses of a vaccine against the coronavirus called Sputnik V will be made. Volunteers will be able to receive the dubious vaccination starting next week.

Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections had been identified per day and the number of deaths from the virus mostly ranged from 50 to 100 in 24 hours. The first step is a partial closure, but how effective it is is questionable. Follow our news!

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered mass vaccination against coronavirus on Wednesday, writes Reuters. Participation is voluntary and vaccinations begin next week.

A vaccine called Sputnik V will be used, of which 2 million doses will be manufactured in the coming days, according to Putin.

Russian researchers estimated the effectiveness of the Russian vaccine to be 90 percent in early November, with 95 percent already speaking by the end of the month. However, there are also scientists who say that published figures suspect they may have falsified the results of vaccine trials. According to the research institute that developed the vaccine, none of the volunteers showed any unexpected side effects. However, according to a Hungarian virologist, there are also strong side effects, such as not being able to move the arm for a while after vaccination.

Despite many concerns, the first samples of Sputnik V have already arrived in Budapest and the government plans to import it and produce it under license if it proves safe and effective in national tests. The European Commission has also expressed concern about this. On Friday, Péter Szijjártó, Russia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Minister of Health, also announced that Hungarian researchers could go to Russia to study vaccines.

Putin announced in August that his daughter had also been vaccinated with Sputnik V. Several members of the Russian government have already taken the vaccine and have already started vaccinations for health workers. The Russian president also spoke in September about getting vaccinated, but that didn’t happen until late November.

Russia is currently the fourth most infected country in the world in terms of numbers alone. On the last day a Reuters according to 589 new victims of the epidemic were registered. The total number of deaths already exceeds 41,000 and that of the infected exceeds 2.47 million.
