Coronavirus – the second wave

Half a year after the spring outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the second wave of the pandemic has arrived. The radical increase in the number of infected is forcing more and more countries to re-impose restrictions, despite the fact that the world economy has not even recovered from the effects of the spring outbreak. According to the posters, the second wave also reached Hungary. Follow our news!

The curve of the epidemic in Italy has skyrocketed, with 445 patients dying in one day, according to the Health Ministry on Thursday night, as people prepare for curfews that take effect at midnight.

The daily death toll increased to 445 from the previous 352. The last time more patients died on May 2, then 474.

Since February 20, 40,192 people have died from the coronavirus epidemic and its complications. More than eighty percent of the dead are over seventy.

In one day, more than 34,000 new infections were screened, compared to just over 30,000 previously. The number of virus tests in one day was 212 thousand. The number of actively infected people exceeded 472 thousand, there are more than 23 thousand patients in the hospital, 2391 intensively.

The number of patients registered since the end of February has reached 824,879.

Most of the new patients were still being evaluated in the Lombardy province, almost 9,000, and 139 patients died in one day in the region. The epidemic struck again in several Milan nursing homes. Maria Teresa Zocchi, councilor for the Lombardy Medical Association, said the province’s health system was “on the verge of collapse.”

The restrictions on the restrictions announced by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte on Wednesday night will take effect from midnight, according to which, among other things, a national nighttime curfew will take effect from 10 p.m. to five in the morning. In addition, the so-called red provinces of Lombardy, Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta and Calabria will be closed.
