At least 100,000 protesters marched Sunday afternoon from Minsk, the center of the Belarusian capital, to the suburban residence of President Alexander Lukashenko, several Russian and Belarusian news sources reported.
Opposition protesters, who have been demanding the departure of the “re-elected” president for 36 days since the presumed presidential election in August, marched and headed to the Drozdi district, in the northwest of the capital, dividing into several marching posts. and building barricades along the way.
Meanwhile, hundreds of riot police who had withdrawn with great force produced activists and, according to various reports, also fired warning shots to contain the crowd.
According to an independent news site, Meduza reports that most of the protesters in Minsk will participate in the parade. By some estimates, there could be hundreds of thousands, the Russian news agency Interfax reported a mass of 150,000.
One of the marching columns was still stopped by police cordons in the center of Minsk, where several warning shots were reportedly fired.
As a result, the crowd began to dissipate. However, most of the protesters (in thousands of tens of thousands of marches) continue on their way to Drozdi, the elite neighborhood of Minsk.

Previously, riot police attempted to disperse the parade, then “only” tens of thousands, in Minsk, producing more than two hundred activists. Similar actions have been reported in several other Belarusian cities. In Brest, the police dispersed the crowd with water cannons.
