One of Donald Trump’s close advisers, Hope Hicks, has tested positive for the coronavirus, so the US president and his wife are in quarantine until the test results arrive, the press reported Thursday night, local time.

Hicks flew with Trump on the presidential special plane for Tuesday’s presidential debate in Cleveland and then for a campaign rally in Minnesota on Wednesday.

“Hope Hicks, who worked tirelessly and very hard, had a positive virus test. It’s horrible! We are awaiting the results of our test with the first lady. In the meantime, we are beginning the quarantine process!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

The president had previously reported that test results would be available no later than Friday, and said that he and his wife would also spend a lot of time with Hicks, who had previously served as the White House’s director of communications.
