According to Sebastian Kurz, the number of people infected with the coronavirus is increasing dramatically in Vienna.

Coronavirus: the second wave

Half a year after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in the spring, the second wave of the pandemic has arrived. The radical increase in the number of infected is forcing more and more countries to re-impose restrictions, despite the fact that the world economy has not even recovered from the effects of the spring outbreak. According to the posters, the second wave also reached Hungary. Follow our news!

The Austrian chancellor warned people living in Austria with dramatic words about the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic. In a call published on Sunday, Sebastian Kurz wrote that the second wave of the epidemic in Austria has begun, the number of new infections is increasing day by day, it was already 850 on Saturday and will soon reach a thousand a day.

According to the chancellor, the situation in Vienna is particularly dramatic because every second of new diseases is detected here.

Kurz therefore appealed to the public to “observe all measurements, keep social contact to a minimum, wear a mask that covers the mouth and nose, and keep the necessary distance from each other everywhere.”

At the same time, the chancellor wrote that he was confident that next summer everything could return to normal, “but until then, autumn and winter will be difficult for everyone.” He asked everyone to be as disciplined as he was in the spring to “overcome” the difficulties that were expected in the coming months.

On Saturday, the seven-day moving average of the number of new illnesses per 100,000 inhabitants in Austria was just over 35, which is high among European countries.

Viktor Orbán: The country cannot stop

Be prepared for the number of diseases to continue to rise, but success will be measured by the number of lives saved. The number of patients will increase in all countries, but in well-defended countries, governments will be able to protect people’s lives, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in an interview broadcast by m1.

The former editorial office of index.hu has essentially ceased to exist, the country has lost its most widely read online interface. This is one of the most serious blows to the independent Hungarian press and freedom of information to date. The number of independent power editorial boards is steadily declining, and those that still exist are trying to stay afloat in a growing headwind.
