Petrin reported damage, the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.2. The earthquake could also be felt in Pécs.

An earthquake occurred in central Croatia on Monday morning, writes the Index.hr. The epicenter of the earthquake was 50 kilometers southeast of Zagreb, and a 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck at a depth of 2 kilometers.

Petrinja Mayor Darinko Dumbovic informed Index.hr that the city was hit by a strong earthquake and that damage had also occurred, but had not yet been able to report on its extent or whether there were any injuries.

The earthquake could be felt in Belovar, Virovitica, Koprivnica, Ogulin, Rijeka and other cities, and even in the southern part of Hungary. A reader from Pécs reported that around seven thirty he noticed something tugging on the bed and the nightstand was shaking. It took about 10 seconds, we figured it out.

The Croatian capital and its surroundings were shaken on March 22 by an earthquake. In the 5.6 and then 5.1 earthquake, which was half an hour apart, many buildings were damaged and more people were injured.

In Zagreb, the replicas of the March earthquake clock are continuous. Experts recorded around two thousand aftershocks, a quarter of which were palpable. To this day, six thousand buildings are not safe, including several kindergartens, elementary schools, secondary schools, universities, and cultural and scientific institutes.
