The deliberation was interrupted when it was announced that Luciana Lamorgese’s test was positive.

Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections had been identified per day and the number of deaths from the virus mostly ranged from 50 to 100 in 24 hours. The first step is partial closure, but how effective it is is questionable. Follow our news!

Italian Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgese was infected and a positive test was announced at the government meeting on Monday, interrupting deliberations. Chancellor Luigi Di Maio, closest to the Interior Minister, and Alfonso Bonafede, head of the Ministry of Justice, both politicians from the Five Star Movement (M5S), have been in quarantine for ten days.

The use of the resources of the Economic Recovery Fund would have been decided at today’s government meeting.

In Italy, 13,720 new infections were tested last day. Compared to 19,000 on Sunday, this is much less, but 52,000 fewer tests were performed. The proportion of positive tests increased slightly and again exceeded twelve percent. The number of active infections has dropped to 748,000 and the number of hospital admissions is gradually decreasing, which is currently just over 30,000.

In the last 24 hours, 528 patients died after the previous 564. The number of deaths is decreasing day by day since December 3, but their number has already reached 60,606.

Health expert Walter Ricciardi, an adviser to the Roman government, said Italy was “experiencing the peak of a second wave of epidemics and is expected to hit hard in December and January, despite falling numbers.”

The province of Abruzzo has left the red zone, that is, of high risk, on Monday with an independent decision. Therefore, no range is included in the classification of the color red.

The regions of Lombardy, Piedmont, Calabria, Tuscany, Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Valle d’Aosta, and Bolzano are considered moderately dangerous orange regions. The limit of these ranges is closed.

The lighter restrictions apply in the yellow zones: Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Marche, Puglia, Umbria, Lazio, Liguria, Molise, Sardinia, Sicily and Trento. Movement between the yellow areas is not prohibited, but between December 21 and January 6, travel between regions will be prohibited across the country.
