On October 26, 2020, scouts from the Budapest Police Headquarters headed to a wooded area near an industrial park on the outskirts of Gyál, after hearing that a man from Budapest was hiding drugs there.

Zsolt L., 33, arrived by taxi around noon and began packing the hidden drug in the trunk of the car. Meanwhile, detectives hiding at the scene took action and were caught and produced along with the taxi driver, Tamás M. de Vecsés, 29. Police seized nearly seven pounds of marijuana at the scene.

Investigators later also conducted a search of Zsolt L.’s apartment in Budapest, where an additional 178 grams of marijuana, a plastic bag contaminated with large amounts of suspected drug substances, and cash were seized.

In the other man’s Vecsés apartment, investigators also found a drug suspect, who was seized along with money also found in the apartment.

The two men were presented and investigated by the BRFK Reconnaissance Department, Zsolt L. was convicted of drug trafficking for a significant amount of drugs, while his partner was questioned as a suspect on suspicion of having committed the same crime as an assistant.
