Viktor Orbán: we are waiting for the second wave, fully armed

There is always someone who cares, the important thing is that there is someone who acts. We all owe a debt of gratitude to Ministers Kásler and Pintér, because they did not sit with their hands in their hands after the first wave, but we were preparing for the second wave.

According to the Prime Minister, we have three things at once:

• lives have to be saved
• schools need to be targeted
• the economy needs to be revived, if we have to stop again we will all be in a very difficult situation

Young people now have a very great responsibility, it was known that the summer will have consequences. We have to ask young people to adapt to the situation, the lives of the elderly are now in their hands, said the prime minister.

It is important not to rush, international organizations have experience in testing according to protocol. Hungary measures the success of defense in human lives, we won the first battle in this, so it is worth taking care which element of our defense system we change.

I understand the reasoning of the bureaucrats in Brussels, but they need to understand that there is strong epidemiological cooperation between the four countries, we know each other, our numbers are low, says Orbán about the exceptions for the Visegrad countries. He points out that Austria is one of those countries, but “would still wait.”

On the one hand, the spread of the virus in Hungary must be suppressed and, on the other hand, supply routes must be blocked, says the Prime Minister.

There will still be a government meeting today, where we will further refine the rules to achieve as much freedom as possible with the necessary restrictions.

Now, however, it is not necessary to apply such a general rule, we can examine each case, if we see that the level of contagion in a school justifies it, then it is possible to move on to digital education there ”, Orbán responds.

I was also surprised by the decision to allocate 500,000 HUF to teachers working with disadvantaged children, the minister made this decision at his own competence and saw that there were resources in the ministry budget. In a positive sense, the decision surprised me – says Viktor Orbán.
