Viktor Orbán traveled to Brussels with a chance to win

According to Origo, the positions on the EU budget for 2021-2027 have converged a lot. As we reported, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in Warsaw on Tuesday: Hungary and Poland have a good chance of winning the debate on the EU budget on the conditions for the payment of EU funds.

In recent weeks several Polish-Hungarian-German negotiations have taken place, during which, according to sources in our government, the Hungarian and Polish parties have constantly insisted on the position that the two countries will not allow themselves to be blackmailed on political issues, immigration or gender.

The most important goal now should be to put countries in trouble as soon as possible during the coronavirus epidemic. Overall, therefore, this means that neither Hungary nor Poland can be blackmailed on immigration and immigration issues, our sources said.

According to Origo, this intention was also conveyed by the Hungarian and Polish governments through the Germans, who currently hold the presidency of the union. As we know,

the Hungarian and Polish prime ministers received not only political but also legal guarantees.

Hungary and Poland insisted on guarantees because they had once tried to enforce a mandatory immigration quota by a two-thirds majority rather than consensus, despite verbal promises.

So, the verbal promise is no longer enough this time, Viktor Orbán and Mateusz Morawiecki asked for a legal guarantee, and they received it. In Hungarian and Polish government circles this is seen as a great success, but it is not yet known how the Member States that have insisted on political conditions will react to all this, as for them this agreement would be a failure. The question, then, is whether the Germans can push the common proposal down the throats of these countries.

our sources said. A final decision could be made tomorrow at the EU summit in Brussels.
