A woman driving a zebra was run over in Tiszaújváros, in Szederkényi út. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries during the crash Tuesday morning due to inattention. The Tiszaújváros Police Headquarters is investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.

The Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County Police Headquarters Traffic Police Department draws attention to the fact that accidents can be avoided by following the rules, and everyone can get home by following police warnings:

  • drivers always choose the speed of their vehicle, taking into account the road and visual and weather conditions,
  • motorists should pay close attention to designated crosswalks, paying particular attention to the hours of the day when the traffic light is off,
  • drivers to check the light-signaling devices of their vehicles to improve their visibility,
  • Pedestrians should always make sure they can cross safely before endangering the road without endangering themselves or others. Pedestrians are at high risk if they travel in conditions of restricted visibility. Dark clothing contributes to danger if they do not wear a visibility vest outside of a populated area and thus blend almost completely with the environment. Always be visible!
  • Drivers of vehicles should approach the designated crosswalk area with extreme caution. Eye contact goes a long way in making it clear to everyone what you are stepping on.
