“Everyone knows that there are two important things for me: understanding the game and running a lot. This, in turn, only works together, because if you don’t run, you don’t help the team, but if you don’t understand the game, why do you run unnecessarily? We are not athletes. ” – affirmed the 46-year-old professional, then added that the players know exactly what is expected of them in each position and are also aware that if their game is not correct, there is already a teammate behind them who can only hope that he also have a chance.
Rebrov spoke of BL’s away game against Juventus: “It was good to see Ronaldo’s face, he was angry that they really couldn’t handle us. Then I explained to the boys: in vain, if someone is good individually, if they play for more money, that day we as a team were really better and we would have deserved a point ”.
“I need to be able to motivate all my players, but that’s not why I’m going to be a really good coach. I analyzed many of the methods of Pep Guardiola, Jürgen Klopp or simply Arsene Wenger when I found my own path that I wanted to follow and that I was able to reach my team ”. Said the former Ukrainian national footballer 75 times, who also spoke honestly about one of the lowercase parts of his contract, he said the secret of success was: “My base salary is not very high, but I insisted on including certain bonuses in the contract; if success comes, the club is worth rewarding the coach. Soccer, let’s face it, business and this is how it should work everywhere – if you want more, work harder.
FK Dinamo Kiev and former Al-Ahli coach recalled that football was an opportunity for him to exploit: “There were factories everywhere in my hometown, everything was surrounded by gray, football was the only possibility that I could come from there” Rebrov recalled, who played basketball, volleyball and ballet as a child. Laughing at the latter, he added that he did it just to get rid of the desk earlier, but he did not deny that the discipline he learned in dance classes was also useful in his coaching career.
The manager and his family, who also travel to England and Turkey as players, feel good in Hungary and spend little of their free time with two amateur sons who live in Hungary: “It is something very interesting and a great opportunity to communicate with others. I like competitions better: a race lasts from twenty-four to forty-eight hours, after which I can return to my work full of new energy ”..
