Two freight trains collided between Ferencváros and Kelenföld

On Wednesday night, a freight train collided with the freight train in front of it between the Connecting Railway Bridge and Ferencváros station, MÁVINFORM said. Two trucks derailed. Due to the accident, rail traffic between Ferencváros and Kelenföld is suspended.

According to the announcement, the accident occurred around 0.30 minutes. It was noted that no one was injured in the accident.

The technical rescue is expected to last until Wednesday night, so:

  • InterCity trains on the Pécs line,
  • long-distance trains on the Hegyeshalom line,
  • Suburban flights S36 and G43 are capital its terminal is at Budapest-Kelenföld station instead of Kőbánya-Kispest.

At Kelenföld station, these trains depart from tracks 1 and 2.

From 5 in the morning Train tickets, season tickets, travel passes that can be used on BKK flights in the following sections:

  • on the M4 metro between Keleti train station and Kelenföld train station
  • at the M3 metro station between Kőbánya-Kispest and Népliget
  • on tram 1 between Népliget – Ferencváros train station – Kelenföld train station

In the morning, delays are expected on long-distance trains on the Pécs and Hegyeshalom lines, as well as on the S36 and G43 services.

MÁVINFORM added in the announcement that both freight trains were operated by private companies.
