A year ago, the body of a baby was found in one of the streets of Tótkomlós, under a bush. Police have been looking for who may have killed the baby ever since. Previously, a trail guide fee of 500,000 HUF was established, which has now been quadrupled and increased to 2 million HUF, according to the report by the Békés county news portal BEOL.

Many people in the county’s peaceful settlement were shocked by the discovery of the body, new developments or the lack of it has been a topic of conversation ever since. As previously reported in Origó, the baby’s body was found bagged on October 26, 2019 in Tótkomlós, in a bush in front of an abandoned house.

The boy, who was wrapped in a kitten blanket in a nylon bag, was buried in the village last December. The inhabitants of the small town also gave the boy a name, as they write in BEOL, they called him Dömö Komlósi.

The cemetery operator told a news portal reporter that locals often ask him for information on where to look for the boy’s grave.
A year ago, I was very shocked by the discovery of the body of an abandoned child, as well as many others in Tótkop. To this day, many carry a candle or flower, or only remember the dead baby with a silent main impulse.

Mariann Makán said at the grave, who said police had identified who had given birth in the city at the time. According to the caregiver, the mother could not be local because, as she said, it would have turned out soon, since Tótkomlós is a small town where everyone knows everything about each other.

A year later, the police also asked BEOL what had happened in the last 12 months and where the investigation was now, if another lead had emerged, if a report had been received since then. Andrea Szombati, spokesperson for the Békés County Police Headquarters, said that according to the investigation findings

the child was born alive, with the umbilical cord and placenta wrapped in a blanket or a smaller woman’s dress, and then tucked into a nylon bag.The dress is a striped dress for 11-12 year old girls from the Gap Kids brand, the bag is white and the plaid has a cat print. There were no injuries to the body indicating abuse. Fetal enamel was only partially set, probably an attempt was made to clean after birth.

The boy died because he did not receive adequate care.

If he had been taken to the hospital immediately after his birth, it most likely could have saved his life. It could already have gone dead in the nylon bag.

A man could have left the dead baby found in Tótkomlós on the street

Researchers have listened to nearly 1,500 people during data collection, witness interviews, accounts, and sampling over the past year, and recorded more than 500 DNA samples. There are various police tests that allow the mother to be clearly identified. The DNA profile of the mother and father was also determined during the procedure.

In addition to the mother’s hair, the blanket also contained mica made from cosmetics, human and animal hair. The hairs are the mother’s hairs. The child’s mother had long hair, 12 inches long, dyed, mostly bleached, yellowish-white at birth. Based on the undergrowth, the woman could have been born.

The additional human hairs are the hairs of a man who is not the father of the child, but is related to the mother of the child on a maternal branch. From all this it can be concluded that the mother of the deceased infant lived in a home or had a very close relationship with a male relative. The dark brown, slightly wavy hairs 7 1/2 inches long are from a male dog. Investigators from the Criminal Department of the Békés County Police Headquarters are constantly working to detect the circumstances of the crime, and the previously established tracking fee of 500,000 HUF was increased to 2 million HUF.
