In the letter, the unions point out that the ISD Dunaferr Zrt. He called a general meeting on September 30, whose agenda included the following items:

  • Election of IG members,
  • Election of SC members,
  • appointment of a company director.

However, the majority shareholder did not appear at the general meeting and was therefore quo, according to the unions. The repeated general meeting announced for October 20 was once again quorated for the same reason.

Based on this, they wrote in their letters to the ministers Gergely Gulyás, László Palkovics and Péter Szijjártó that Dunaferr’s operation does not comply with the law.

As a result, former CEO Evgeny Tankhilevich now serves as deputy CEO.

Interested parties also recall that workers have not been paid the same amount in the last two months. From the rescheduling of salary payments and the current level of production, it can be assumed that even those who perform beyond their strength in the conditions aggravated by the Covid-19 virus cannot prepare for the celebration of love.

According to them, the Dunaferr leadership tramples the laws and feels that it is against the law.

They then argue that the company “due to its size affects the national economy to such an extent that it must be important to the State.” There can be no doubt about that

the national economy needs this steel mill.

They also acknowledge that despite their efforts, their requests did not reach the owner, so they turned to the government. They ask that what happened before in Diósgyőr or Ózd should not happen in Dunaújváros. They argue that the livelihood and future of 100,000 people depends on the factory. They quote the classic saying that

if the factory lives, the city lives. However, they feel that the factory is dying.
