Three and a half years in prison were requested for corruption cases against Richárd M., who caused the accident in Györgydózsa út.

According to the indictment, Richard Richard’s driver’s license was temporarily revoked in 2016 and, at the same time, he was asked to retrain because his transportation points reached the 18-point limit. Richard M. could have got his license back if he had participated in a 6 hour lecture and then taken an exam on a series of assignments and on traffic.

Richard M., on the other hand, did not want to complete the course that was imposed on him, so he approached a man who he knew was preparing false leadership documents and offered to pay him any amount if he would help him get his license back. The mediator had a friend who offered to help him with the case, claiming that he had an acquaintance at the police station. The two men asked for a total of 300,000 florins for Richard M. in exchange for his license back.

The mediator repeatedly tried to take the exam in place of Richard M. in 2017, but failed for several reasons. The accident on Györgydózsa Road also occurred at that time, when M. Richard ran 135-140 km / h without a driver’s license and a car turned and M. Richárd Mercésdesze crashed into a bus stop. Two people died at the bus stop.

After the accident, the mediator contacted Richard M. again and recommended that the knowledge of the policeman for another 600,000 forint should have a positive impact on the criminal proceedings initiated by the accident. Richard M. accepted the offer and also handed over the money. It later emerged that the friend of the mediator was not actually in contact with a police officer, but kept the money.

The Central Investigation Prosecutor’s Office was charged against Richard M. and two of his colleagues for breach of duty and abuse of office, falsification of public documents and influence peddling with allegations of bribery. The prosecution requested 3 years and 6 months in prison for M. Richard in case he already admits his guilt at the preparatory meeting and also waives his right to a trial. The mediator was sentenced to 2 years in prison, while the perpetrator, who falsely referred to his official relations, was sentenced to four years in prison, fined one million and confiscated 900,000.
