A call for public procurement has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union for the preparation of the full license and construction plans for the next phase of the interlocking power grid of Buda – writes MTI Dávid Vitézy, referring to the CEO of the Budapest Development Center (BFK).
The BFK communication sent to the MTI also reveals that the development of the interlocking tram network of Buda will continue in the second phase on the banks of the Danube, south of the Szent Gellért square, on the quay of the Technical University and the Pázmány Péter promenade. to the Kopaszi dam area. The terminal will be in Budafoki út, the line will also connect with the new Redondo Sur railway stop, Nádorkert.
The new line runs partly on a grassy track, along the quay of the Technical University and the Pázmány Péter promenade in the university district and the Infopark, then it becomes Dombóvári út and provides a connection with the center of the town with the Kopaszi Dam Public Park and the new residential and office area under construction.

From the spinning mill, it will be possible to switch to tram 1, Budafoki út buses and commuter trains at the new Nádorkert stop on the South Circuit, and there will be a connection north to lines 19, 41 and 56, and to Pest. in the direction of lines 47 and 49. There will be seven stops without barriers: at Szent Gellért Square, at the Technical University pier on Bertalan Lajos street, at the Petőfi Bridge in Buda, at Pázmány Péter Promenade, at the ELTE South Block line, at the Rákóczi Bridge in Buda at the terminal
Plans are ready for 2021 and Dávid Vitézy is confident that they will be able to start construction of the new tram line in Budapest soon after. Preparatory tasks are financed by the government from the central budget, the work is carried out by the Budapest Development Center under the supervision of Secretary of State Balázs Fürjes, in cooperation with the municipalities of Budapest and Újbuda, the Transport Center of Budapest (BKK) and BKV.
