Due to the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic, the rules on the use of masks will be tightened in Budapest, and violators of the obligation to wear masks will be able to impose fines on the spot of up to 15,000 HUF, the MTI decided at the extraordinary meeting of the Monday.
At the suggestion of Mayor Gergely Karácsony, the board unanimously supported the adjustment.
The decree will enter into force on the third day of its promulgation, so it is expected that from Friday the use of masks to cover the nose and mouth will be mandatory in cinemas and theaters, concerts and circus performances, as well as in spaces. closed of similar institutions and in condominium assemblies.
If someone at these institutions and locations does not wear a mask properly or at all, they can be fined up to 15,000 HUF on the spot. The owner of the place can receive an administrative fine of up to 50,000 HUF.
