“The county data on the map showing all confirmed infections reported today is being improved. The new map will be uploaded soon. We apologize for the error. The map sharing does not affect the fact that the total number of confirmed infections is 243,581 “said koronavirus.gov.hu.

As the Portfolio wrote, the operational strain reported clearly wrong data on the number of coronavirus infections by county today, as the cumulative number of infections decreased across all counties, which is not possible. However, there is something much stranger and more inexplicable in the data than this error.

We discovered three oddities in the data released on Saturday, let’s look at them:

  1. In each county, the number of infected people has decreased compared to yesterday, which in principle is not possible (unless it is a statistical error or a correction of a previous error), since the number of infected people is always a figure Cumulative showing the number of positive testers through March. . By comparison, since Friday, for example, the number of infected people in Budapest has dropped by 496, and the number of counties and the capital has dropped by 3,475 in 24 hours.
  2. According to the official announcement posted on koronavirus.gov.hu and the map inscription also posted here, so far 243,581 coronavirus infections have been recorded in Hungary, however, the sum of the data from the counties and the capital in the map is 234,581, that is, the two numbers do not match.
  3. Based on the nature of the statistics, 243,581 people clearly appear to be the correct figure (as the number had to increase compared to yesterday), but the reader may have noticed that these two numbers are only two digits apart.

IT IS DIFFICULT TO EXPLAIN THAT IT IS A POINT OF ERROR THAT WHEN EXCHANGING AN OFFICIALLY PUBLISHED NUMBER AND A NUMBER OF 20 DATA, EXACTLY EXCHANGING TWO DIGITS.

We do not like to produce conspiracy theories, but it is as if someone has deliberately established new county data in such a way that their sum in any case yields national data, only in the latter two digits were accidentally exchanged before defining the county data .

We look forward to explaining the new map. By our interpretation, this is not just one (or two) corrupted data, but the map data is wrong in many places.
