In response to public signals, the Budapest Police Headquarters (BRFK) and the Budapest Transport Center (BKK) stepped up their inspections of bus routes 9 and 151 on Wednesday and Thursday, BRFK reported on police.hu on Saturday .
21 people were denounced for failing to comply with the obligation to wear a mask, 16 were fined on the spot, one person was denounced for consuming alcohol in public places and another was fined.
The vast majority needed action not on buses but on the street, they said.
It was also reported that 28 police officers, 12 employees of the BKK security service and 8 employees of the Metropolitan Municipal Police Directorate participated in the action.
