He painfully informs us that JÁNOS BOROS, German teacher (Véménd, October 26, 1928 – Pécs, November 24, 2020) has passed away. János Boros (Johann Brambauer) was born into a German family in Hungary. From the age of 12 he attended school in Pécs, where he obtained a diploma at the Teachers Training School. As an organizer of children’s programs, he brought groups to East Germany as early as the second half of the 1950s to learn the language. In the early 1960s, he organized one of the first German classes in the country at the centre’s primary school, with a state-of-the-art language laboratory. In the second half of the 1970s, he became an employee of the Baranya County Council Career Choice Institute. He continued to teach the language until the late 2000s. One of the most important achievements of his life, he considered, was that all six grandchildren took a German test. After retiring, he wrote a book on the history of his hometown, which was published under the title Véménd. His wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren said goodbye to him in a close family circle. He will stay with us with his soul.
