The Parliamentary Secretary of State for the Finance Ministry said that through family members and state payments, more than HUF 107 billion in interest is already paid to children in baby bonds, representing an increase of more 25 percent compared to roughly HUF 80 billion at the end of last year.
“The baby bond provides an incomparable opportunity for parents and relatives who want to take care of the financial future of their children,” emphasized the Secretary of State.
In addition to the state subsidy owed after the annual payment, the bond offers an exceptionally high yield, with interest rates increasing to three percent last year and 6.4 percent this year, András Tállai stressed.
Opening an account for a baby bond is getting easier and parents or family members can do it online through a customer portal. This year, every fourth account opening has been done online, he said.
Digital administration is fast, convenient and safe from the point of view of health protection, it is worth taking advantage of the opening of an online account, indicated the Secretary of State.
Arguing in favor of the baby bond, he said that if a family member pays 5,000 guilders a month, a child born this year can receive more than 2,2 million guilders from the bond after turning 18.
