The utility company issued a warning, all customers are affected!

In recent days there have been recent abuses that refer to NKM Energia Zrt., NKM’s energy provider, and scammers target Hungarian internet users on behalf of NKM’s online customer service, citing the creation of a bill, National Public Utilities noted.

Scammers who focus on customer bank details send invoice completion letters from a variety of bogus email addresses. It is important to know that official NKM online customer support systems send official notifications to [email protected] and [email protected]. In all cases, customers will receive official and authentic information from these two email addresses if their new bill for natural gas or electricity is being prepared, according to MTI, the utility company indicates.

NKM’s online customer service website never asks its customers to provide the information they need to pay by credit card. In all cases, they only have to provide them after being redirected to a secure banking interface, NKM noted, while at the same time claiming that it disassociates itself from all informal inquiries and fraud attempts and cooperates with the police and other authorities to detect them. Customers are asked to report any suspected NKM-related abuse to the email address [email protected] or the customer service phone number +36 1/20/30/70 474 9999.

K&H Bank warned of a similar fraud this week, where they tried to obtain consumer data through fake emails.
