Despite the raging coronavirus epidemic, the Spar Budapest Marathon was held on Sunday for the 35th time this year. The field was a third of the usual 30,000, this time, but the headlines came from a score of countries. The beginning was always in small groups of a few hundred people. The organizer, Budapest Sportiroda, stated that the sanitary precautions prescribed or recommended by the authorities had been observed and followed, and that the runners had been warned to start asymptomatically, all had to undergo a body temperature measurement before entering the zone of competition.
