The number of new coronavirus infections in Hungary has risen steadily in recent weeks and it appears that the virus is now spreading more among young people, said Cecília Müller, national medical director.

The average age of newly infected people is around 30 years.
The responsibility of young people is increasing during these weeks, the possibility of the virus spreading in the community is greater in this age group. Young people may not realize they can get sick, feel less exposed to infection, as they may have mild or no symptoms, but can still transmit the virus. warned the national chief doctor, who asked young people to behave responsibly. He emphasized the need to continue to comply with epidemiological norms and recommendations: distance, use of a mask in public transport and in confined spaces, as well as regular hand washing, hand disinfection, disinfection of frequently used common surfaces.
The national medical director highlighted: Responsible behavior by the people can prevent national measures that greatly hindered our lives in the spring from having to be reintroduced. 45 percent of the actively infected, 60 percent of the dead and 42 percent of those recovered are from Budapest.
The hospital cares for 98 coronavirus patients, seven of whom are hooked up to ventilators.
