Chancellor Gábor Szarka spoke on Wednesday about the fact that the University of Theater and Film Arts (SZFE) is ready to go beyond shutting down the Internet to eliminate student resistance. The next morning, the students had already noticed that
the caretakers closed the Ódry Stage, the room where their forums had been held until now. And his belongings stored inside were unpacked.
The keys have been put into operation, but the locks have also been replaced to make sure they cannot return. The Ódry Stage had never been closed before, the students didn’t even know there was a key, so now they can’t go back here, although up to 70 people could gather here at once so they weren’t too crowded.
They also tightened the withdrawal of the Internet: in the building on Vas Street, the network cable was disconnected from the port, so they can no longer access the network there. Wi-Fi is not yet available in the building on Szentkirályi street, but there is at least wired internet from 7 am to 6 pm.
The students say they will not abandon the protest despite such disciplinary action, for example, they already have radiators in case they turn off the heat next time.
