It turned out how much and how many coronavirus tests the Hungarian government bought. The Socialist MEP István Ujhelyi addressed a request for data of public interest to the government, and according to the response of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of contracting:
2,043,280 tests were acquired for a total of 9,580,639,177 HUF, that is, an average of 4,689 HUF.
The official price for the tests was set by the government at 19,500 HUF last week, the data above shows how much of this the cost of the material may be.
The government had previously purchased more than 6,000 ventilators from one of the test providers (GR Technologies), as well as Pro Concept Kft. It also delivered epidemiological devices to the Foreign Ministry in the spring. The other three suppliers are Climonix Inc., Special 99 Külkereskedelmi Kft and Primer Design Ltd, these companies have not yet appeared among their foreign business partners.
According to Ujhelyi, government purchases are not yet transparent and, according to him, the health team should not be managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but by the Ministry of Health. His party continues to demand that the state test the population for free. (Ujhelyi’s Facebook)
