In the second instance decision of the Metropolitan Sentencing Board, the Metropolitan Court ordered a new procedure in the case of the strike of employees of the University of Theater and Film Arts as of October 1, no decision was made on background on the illegality of the strike, writes MTI.
In a first instance ruling issued on October 23, the Metropolitan Court declared the strike of SZFE employees illegal. The workers filed an appeal against the order on October 28.
According to the latest statement from the SZFE strike committee, the Metropolitan Sentencing Board affirmed that the workers’ strike demands established in six points are legal.
“Our strike demands affected the economic, social and labor interests of our employees, so the Arbitration Panel determined that our warning strike was legal. Our strike, which began on October 1, has yet to be tried for formal reasons. In this case, the Arbitral Tribunal has instructed the Court of First Instance to reopen the procedure, but must take into account the findings of the Arbitral Tribunal.
They added that despite the prohibition on teaching, they continue to teach, henceforth seen as a new form of resistance. In his opinion, the nullity of the semester without resolution is not legal and is even contrary to the obligations of the Board of Trustees contained in the articles of incorporation.
