Strengthening the economy during and after the coronavirus epidemic, and rapidly restoring economic growth after this year’s recession, is the government’s most important goal, according to the statement. As part of its economic development strategy, the government will establish four economic development zones to promote coordinated and balanced territorial development.
- The South Transdanubia,
- Northwest Hungary,
- the Southern Great Plain
- and northeast Hungary
The objective of the complex program relating to the Economic Development Zone is to allow the historical regions, which form an economically and culturally unified area, to develop as a competitive economic unit in international comparison.
The development of development programs for economic development zones is carried out under the direction of government commissioners with the participation of local governments and organizations representing regional interests, the statement concluded.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said today that the economy must be reactivated, if we have to stop again, we will all be in a very difficult situation.
