Stronger border protection measures imposed due to the coronavirus epidemic went into effect on September 1, and in addition to the 37 designated border crossings at the time, another 24 have been opened since then, primarily for travelers, the MTI writes according to the Headquarters of the National Police.

To prevent the spread of the coronavirus epidemic, the government has decided to temporarily reintroduce border control in the border sections of Slovenia, Austria and Slovakia and the internal air border crossings for 30 days starting from September 1, and the border crossings only are possible at designated border crossings.

After the introduction of the restriction, 37 border crossings could be used, but since then another 24 have been opened, mainly to meet the needs of those living in border settlements.

On September 1, in addition to the originally designated crossing points on the Romanian border, the existence crossing, the Beehive and Beszomb crossings were opened to bilateral passenger and freight traffic, and on September 4, the border crossing of the Nagykerek Expressway was opened to international passenger and freight traffic.

On September 2, the Sátoraljaújhely crossing was opened at the border with Slovakia for bilateral passenger and freight traffic.

On September 5, the crossing of the Bilvölgy Valley and Lower Transylvania, Saint Petersburg, Bozsok and Győr towards the border with Slovenia was opened to bilateral passenger traffic. On this day, on the Slovak-Hungarian border, the Letkés, Balassagyarmat, Nógrádszakál and the local border crossing of Sátoraljaújhely, bilateral passenger traffic, and freight traffic were opened. The Esztergom waterway was also opened to bilateral freight traffic on September 5.

On September 8, the Pinkamindszent crossing on the Austro-Hungarian border was opened and on September 10 the Rajka-Slovakia crossing was opened to bilateral passenger traffic.

On September 17, the Komárom (Monostori Bridge) crossing on the Slovak-Hungarian border was opened for international passenger and freight traffic, and on the 21st the Pornapáti and Ágfalva crossing was opened to bilateral passenger traffic on the Austro border. -Hungarian.
