The Ferencváros municipality would have awarded the Fradist legionary Tocmac, who could not know it, but today he resigned in a letter.

Today, Wednesday September 9, at noon, a messenger delivered an envelope addressed to Mayor Krisztina Baranyi at the Ferencváros City Hall. Baranyi was quite surprised by its content. The message, written in English and Hungarian, was sent to her by Tocmac Chol Nguen, the best footballer in the FTC, who said that the athlete had recently learned that the district whose club is named after her was worthy of an award.

But he cannot accept the nomination even if he considers it honorable.

This is because you do not want your case to be used for political purposes, not in Hungary or anywhere else in the world. Nor do you want to be seen as belonging to one or the other political camp. As far as he believes, and as far as he is personally concerned, he will defend those matters without charge in the future, the footballer concluded.

Baranyi was not only surprised why Tocmac was rejecting a local award that he claimed had no political intention to reward and that used to reward athletes who pleased or set an example to many of the Franciscan cities.

But also how Tocmac found out. The municipality has been trying to reach the soccer player for about two weeks with the news of his nomination, but despite trying on several lines, they were unable to speak with him. They didn’t even look for his club, Ferencváros.

Only the representatives of the Ferencváros municipality knew about Baranyi Tocmac’s nomination for the award, and they have only known since Thursday-Friday of last week. That’s when the presentations from the board meeting to be held on Thursday, September 10, including the proposals for the Ferencváros Sport Award, were distributed. This year, two candidates have been nominated; any member has the right to do so. One was the school supplies association called Szent István SE, nominated by the opposition faction that governs the district, and the other was Tocmac, personally nominated by Baranyi.

In several places in the letter of resignation, the footballer referred to the action of a batter after the goal, that was the certain “case” raised on several occasions. Not by accident. In justifying Baranyi’s proposal, which is a mandatory part of the proposal, after Tocmac’s important goals, the mayor also mentioned that

“Nguen can be a role model to many, not only with his ruthless game, but also with his sporty demeanor and boldly human demeanor. She arrived in the country shortly after the Hungarian government’s hate campaign against refugees was launched. The embarrassing state-driven hysteria significantly increased the racist sounds that are already common in stadiums anyway. The Kenyan player defended the most important human values in this environment when he celebrated the goal scored by the Puskás Academy in Felcsút with the inscription “Justice for George Floyd” on the shirt under the shirt ”.

Despite the fact that the municipality did not inform the player or his club of all this, it was clear from today’s letter that Tocmac, or the person who received the letter, knew exactly not only the fact of the nomination but also its justification. .

According to him, Baranyi Tocmac received his shipment from the courier around 12:30 on Wednesday, and was then so astonished by the content of the unfolded letter that after reading it he photographed what he said happened at 12:47. An article on the subject, with abundant quotes from the letter, was published at 12:55 in Magyar Nemzet. There was no indication that Tocmac might not have known of his nomination. At least it is suspicious that the Nation should have known when Tocmac’s letter would be delivered.

Baranyi told 444 that he would respect the wishes of the person in question and withdraw his nomination.

To our question, the mayor reiterated that the award had no political overtones and said he could only think about the fact that when he stopped the free $ 50 million annual city grant from the FTC, he was angry at it.
