Since January 2021, the International Crimes Division of the National Bureau of Investigation of the Reserve Police has been working closely with foreign partner organizations to curb illegal online drug trafficking. In doing so, county and national reconnaissance units have successfully taken action against various merchants shrouded in the anonymity of the dark web.

As part of the series of operations, the Győr police ordered an investigation into Balázs B., 28, from Balatonfüred, for committing drug trafficking. The man has presumably ordered a significant amount of drugs from Germany three times since November 2020 for which he paid bitcoin in crypto.

In cooperation with domestic and foreign postal services, investigators managed to identify the latest shipment and then, as part of an organized action, beat the man on the afternoon of March 16, 2021 in Balatonfüred. A total of 2.1 kilograms of amphetamine was seized from him, the value of which on the black market exceeds HUF 6 million.

Following questioning, the man was detained and his arrest began.
