In order to improve work-life balance, the Dialogue proposes the introduction of a four-day work week for emergencies, the party said.

Therefore, the Dialogue tabled a motion for a resolution on introducing a four-day work week in times of emergency.

As a general rule, the weekly workday would be reduced to four days a week, Monday through Thursday, and the number of days off would be increased to three days a week. If the employer divides the working time into five days a week, the total daily working time is 7 hours a day from Monday to Thursday and 4 hours a day on Friday.

Due to the reduction in working hours, the salary should not be reduced, for this, when introducing a four-day work week, the base hourly salary must be adjusted by a factor of 1.25 so that this amendment does not require a modification to the contract of work.

The Dialogue prohibits the employer from using a method that results in the employee receiving a lower monthly salary after the introduction of the four-day work week than before. Any amendment to the employment contract that results in a reduction in salary is void. Employers can apply for state support to cover the costs of introducing a four-day work week.

Employers should switch to a four-day work week within 15 days after the legislation is passed.
