On Thursday morning the forint was at 362.12 against the euro, which was a 0.3% increase in Hungarian currency terms compared to Wednesday night. In recent days, the news of the US presidential election has moved the exchange rate, yesterday at dawn, when Donald Trump seemed to have been surprised, the forint weakened near 367, and then the Hungarian currency ignited with Joe’s translation Biden. In other words, investors are now clearly valuing that they will be the Democratic president of the United States, and that appears to be good news for the forint. We are now at 308.6 against the dollar, while the British pound costs 400.4 guilders.
Among the forint’s competitors in the region, the Polish zloty and the Czech crown also started the day with stagnation and minimal strengthening. In the emerging market, the Turkish lira weakened another 0.6% against the dollar on Thursday morning, while the South African rand also started the day weakening by about half a percent.
The presidential elections also caused major fluctuations in the euro-dollar exchange rate, and the exchange rate was pulled by various news items. The dollar weakened a bit more on Thursday morning, with the current price around 1.173 0.1 percent higher than Wednesday night.
