After the virtual peace march in the spring, the CÖF-CÖKA was reactivated to support the continuation of the government’s Liget project.

The organization appealed to its supporters in a mobilizing circular email on Tuesday to get as many people as possible Gergely Christmas gave rise to the Wednesday meeting of the General Assembly of the capital, where the modification of the Building Regulations of the City Park will be one of the items on the agenda. Magyar Hírlap also communicated the content of the email.

According to the CÖF, with the adoption of VÉSZ, the mayor “would make the historic renovation of the park completely impossible”. In fact, it is Christmas, as previously promised, the document would provide the legal background for the construction works that have not yet begun to begin and more investment to be made in the Municipal Park than at present. VÉSZ would make the implementation of three buildings difficult: the construction of the New National Gallery, the Városliget Theater and the House of Hungarian Innovation would be delayed.

According to the CÖF, this would jeopardize the Liget project.

The official organization also organized a march for peace in May to support the entire construction plan, although due to the epidemic situation, they could only call a virtual march to the public forum on EMERGENCY. In addition, two thousand letters were sent to the capital city.
