To reuse damaged appliances, the city of Vienna will bear more than half of the cost of repairing appliances for residents of the Austrian capital, up to a maximum of 100 euros (36,500 HUF), the Foreign Affairs Office of Vienna told MTI. the city of Vienna.

The campaign aims to reduce the burden on the environment and, at the same time, help increase the reduction in business turnover due to the epidemic.

1.6 million euros (584 million HUF) has been allocated for the campaign, which started on September 21 and is scheduled for three years.

The companies that participate in the program have a contract with the city. Viennese have to download a voucher from the city’s website, which is included in the payment when businesses include a tailor, a carpenter, a jewelry store, and a telephone service.

Defective appliances are immediately thrown away by many and replaced with new ones, creating unnecessary waste. Additionally, appliances can be repaired in many cases, often cheaper than a new structure would cost, according to the statement.
