The acting director has not been admitted to the university, so the board closes the semester

The university management closes the fall semester of the University of Theater and Cinematographic Arts because students who are blocked by the university cannot enter the institution, Origo reported. The decision, we know, was made because they couldn’t control the work that was being done at the university, so they couldn’t take responsibility either. As of Monday, classrooms and dormitories will also be closed, but accommodation will be provided to students if requested and important social concessions will also be made.

According to Origo, the Foundation for the Arts of Theater and Film, the maintainer of the University of Theater and Film Arts, has decided that since the conditions of education and the rights of students do not apply at the university, the fall semester is closed, education will continue from February 1, until then educational activities at the university cannot be continued

This means that the credits of the subjects taken in the first semester are not recognized by the university management either (since they cannot be sure that they are fulfilled).

The board of directors makes several concessions to the students. At the end of the semester, the legal relationship of the students is not terminated and the student loan is disbursed, as well as the scholarships are received by the students in accordance with the original rules. All the university buildings will be closed from Monday, so the dormitory, it is not possible to live there. For those who do not know where to go, the Chancellor offers accommodation. We also know that it has been decided that students will not have to pay reimbursement fees that are due before February 1 or, if they are paid, the amount will be reimbursed.

The reason for the concessions is obviously that the university leadership also knows that the blockade is being done by a minority of students, practically capturing their own classmates.

Education will continue from February 1.
