Armand Duplantis improved the men’s world outdoor pole vault record by 6.15 meters in the Roma Diamond League.

The Swedish athlete took the height for a second attempt, leaving behind the 6.14 meter record set in 1994 by the legendary Ukrainian Serhiy Bubka.

Duplantis, 20, set the world record for 6.18 meters indoors in February and then showed the second best outdoor jump of all time in Lausanne in early September with 6.07 meters.

The international federation has not distinguished between indoor and outdoor world records since 2000, it has a record, so the current result is officially the best outdoor performance. (MTI)
