According to the Hungarian Vice President of BioNTech, the world with vaccines next summer could be as we knew it before the epidemic.

Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections a day had been identified and the number of deaths from the virus mostly ranged from 50 to 100 in 24 hours. The first step is a partial closure, but how effective it is is questionable. Follow our news!

The Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine contains no unknown substances, only natural ingredients such as plant nucleotides. We don’t use bacteria or animal cells to do it either, the Spanish said. The countryKatalin Karikó, a Hungarian biochemist who developed the patent for the two companies’ vaccine.

In a longer newspaper article, Karikó’s entire career is discussed in Hungary, but eventually he moved to the United States, where he and his partner, Drew Weissmann, formed the basis of one of the most effective coronavirus vaccines. . The specific work involves the therapeutic application of mRNA, which is why several scientists consider the Nobel Prize-winning research partner.

The article points out that Karikó and Weissman have already been vaccinated. The Hungarian biochemist said about it: for a moment he was not afraid to do it, in fact, he would have given it to him earlier in the laboratory, but it is illegal. And Karikó, as he said, likes to follow the rules.

Speaking about the vaccine, he said that the protection provided by the vaccine develops 10 days after the first dose, which is initially 88.9 percent, but can be increased to 95 percent with the next second dose. According to Kariko, the efficacy of her vaccination is well demonstrated by the fact that it neutralized 20 types of mutations in the virus in clinical trials.

The Hungarian scientist believes that vaccines will be able to end the coronavirus, and even next summer it will be as before. “We can go back to the beach, go back to our normal life,” Karikó told the Spanish newspaper.
