The National Center for Public Health (NNK) is investigating which antigen-based test gives a similar result to PCR, and if there is one that does, it will be used.

Coronavirus: the second wave

The National Center for Public Health (NNK) has begun comparing rapid antigen-based tests, comparative clinical trials with PCR tests, the organization said Wednesday.

If these rapid tests provide sufficiently sensitive and realistic data, it will be used to make a faster diagnosis.

The purpose of the comparative tests is to select the type of rapid test that best approximates PCR tests in terms of sensitivity. After evaluation of the results, rapid antigen-based tests will be used for diagnostic purposes in Hungary, as an important tool for epidemiological monitoring.
