If you are using a Lenovo laptop, don’t be surprised if the latest version of Windows 10 is causing errors.
The May 10 update for Windows 10 (or Windows 10 2004) is now available for many devices, but the package could lead to unexpected errors, at least according to a Lenovo representative in Canada. According to the manufacturer, those who have updated may run into bugs, even “blue deaths.” Specifically, these are ThinkPad models released in 2019 or 2020 with virtualization enabled. Lenovo also details the errors found. BSoD screen (blue death) when starting, starting Lenovo Vantage, and running Windows Defender Scan. It also turned out that after the update, some users will no longer be able to log in with Windows Hello. There may be errors in Device Manager Intel Management Engineand infrared cameras. These issues are due to incompatible drivers that conflict with the virtualization features of Windows 10.
Lenovo says the only solution is to disable the BIOS Safety menu Virtualization stage of the Enhanced Windows biometric security adjustment. (To verify that virtualization is enabled, you need to open the ThinkPad BIOS Configuration Utility and check in the Security / Virtualization menu.)
Although the update in question is in May, it is still underway to introduce global access. It may not take long anymore, as a new feature update is expected to complete in September, called Windows 10 20H2.
