On Wednesday night, they took to the streets in several major cities in the United States to protest the firing of two police officers, one accused not of murder but of carelessness that jeopardized the case of 26-year-old black nurse Breonna Taylor, who was killed in March. The other two police officers, who also fired shots in the March raid, were not charged, meaning neither of them is on trial for Taylor’s murder.
The prosecution ruled, based on the evidence, that the police shooting was justified because his friend Kenneth Walker had shot the police officers who were showing up for a search at Nurse Taylor’s apartment, wounding one of them, and they responded to fire in self-defense. Six shots were fired at the 26-year-old black woman who died at the scene. Her friend was charged with attempted murder.
CNN’s live broadcasts also show protests in New York, Dallas, Detroit, Nashville, Las Vegas and Atlanta, with crowds of thousands crashing in some places.
In Louisville, Kentucky, Taylor’s hometown, people took to the streets despite the curfew. Here, the demonstration drowned in violence and two policemen were also shot. One of them needs surgery, but is not in danger of death, an assailant has been arrested. Meanwhile, in Atlanta, deployed riot police dispersed protesting tear gas.

In Denver, someone crashed into the protesting crowd in a car. No one was injured, the driver was arrested.
The political elite also spoke on the subject. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden assured everyone that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had launched an investigation, that they would make the final decision on the matter. Donald Trump, for his part, indicated that in addition to the two police officers shot, the federal government was willing to intervene.
Praying for the two cops who were shot tonight in Louisville, Kentucky. The federal government stands behind you and is ready to help. I talk to @GovAndyBeshear and we are ready to work together, immediately upon request!
