The students held a press conference Tuesday afternoon at the University of Theater and Motion Picture Arts on Monday night. At a press conference in front of the university’s Vas Street building, the assembled sympathizers received with great applause the students occupying the SZFE, who stood in front of the public wearing a yellow uniform mask.
At the barely ten-minute press conference, which is scheduled for every day from here, the SZFE students announced their official statement. In it, they write that the university was occupied at midnight, after a joint countdown, and from now on they think together what kind of training they want to do.
Statement points:
- guaranteed autonomy for the university
- reject the Law of Change of University Model in its current form
- reject the way the board of directors and supervisory board are appointed and the current leadership
- reject the basic documents accepted by the maintainer
- reject any arbitrarily appointed leadership
- Demand the restoration of the powers of the Senate.
- demand acceptance of the documents drafted by the resigned Senate
- demand the resignation of the current board of trustees
- Demand that the rights of the university not be transferred from the state to the foundation.
- Demand that the state cannot completely withdraw from funding the institution.
- Require that the name of the university be returned to the name of the foundation.
- they will continue to distance themselves from party politics and their representatives will remain distant
- Until further notice, only current citizens of the university can enter the university.
As we wrote previously, the management of the University of Theater and Film Arts resigned on Monday due to the loss of university autonomy, László Upor Deputy Rector, Eszter Novák Deputy Rector, Gábor Németh Advisor to the Rector and Director of the Institute of Cinema and Theater – Gábor Balázs and László Bagossy – as well as members of the Senate. College leaders who retain their teaching positions do not disappoint their students.
After an announced demonstration in front of the University of Theater and Film Arts, the students set up a barricade in front of the institution for the night, camping in the building for about 250.
Tuesday morning it turned out that Tamás Ascher and Ildiko Enyedi he also terminated his teaching contract at SZFE. Enyedi announced in a letter she read at the rally Monday night that she had announced that she would not take her master’s class.
