Starting Tuesday, the Budapest Transportation Center (BKK) will distribute masks to travelers in various parts of the capital to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection, the company told MTI on Monday night.

The disposable medical mouth mask is distributed by BKK employees in five busy metro stations: Deák Ferenc Square, Kálvin Square, Kelenföld Train Station, Keleti Train Station and Széll Kálmán Square.

It was written that thanks to the fit control these days, almost everyone wears a mask again on public transport in Budapest. Inspectors can no longer only exclude from the trip those who do not wear or use the mask correctly at stops and vehicles, but can also pay extra.

However, the goal of BKK is not to punish, but to curb the coronavirus infection. After the introduction of the mandatory mask rule, the company distributed more than 60,000 masks to those traveling to the capital in the spring.
