Pierre Gasly won the first Formula 1 race of his life. His team, Alpha Tauri, was able to win for the last time, then still known as Toro Rosso, in 2008, even then at the Italian Grand Prix, as it is now.

After the start of the Monza race, Lewis Hamilton, who took pole position with the fastest lap in history on Saturday, took the lead. Ferrari, which raced on the home track until lap 20, was the event of the day: Sebastian Vettel was already eliminated on lap six and Charles Leclerc was driving around 14th place, then the race picked up speed. Something leaked out of Kevin Magnussen’s car, prompting the safety car to enter and passengers taking turns changing wheels. Hamilton was too fast, even when the pit lane was closed, for which he was penalized.

By then, however, there was already a red flag in place: Leclerc, who had made great strides at the restart, was already in fourth place when he slid at a tremendous pace. The rubber wall had to be mounted to stop the race. His misfortune continued even when his car fell off the tow truck. But at least it’s okay, they found out at the hospital about the track.

They continued the race with a stopped start on lap 28, and a lap later Hamilton came out to recover his penalty, so Pierre Gasly was already in the lead. In second place was Carlos Sainz, catching up with the French, but moving his hand too slowly. So Gasly won, Sainz came second, Lance Stroll came third.
