More and more people are infected across Europe, including Hungary. The elderly should take care of themselves, take their medications and get vaccinated against the flu, said Cecília Müller, national medical director. Yesterday twenty people had to be treated for not wearing a mask on public transport, four were also reported, the operating court said.

43 police actions have been needed in the last 24 hours, Lieutenant Colonel Róbert Kiss said at a press conference in the operations court on Friday. In twenty cases, the police acted on public transport due to violations of the mask use rules, in four cases a complaint had to be made, in 16 cases the passenger escaped with a warning. The police acted in 23 cases in stores.

So far, there have been a total of 599 police actions, 58 for violating traffic rules. The number of official home quarantines ordered yesterday is 2787, 22906 are in quarantine on Friday, 1182 of them are controlled by the police through a mobile application. Since the outbreak, 472 criminal cases have been ordered, said Robert Kiss. There are no serious expectations at the borders, the waiting time is 3 hours for freight traffic in Röszke and 2 hours for passenger traffic in Beregsurány.

More and more get infected

In the last 24 hours, the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 1,322 new Hungarian citizens, Cecília Müller said, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 28,631. Seventeen patients died, bringing the death toll to 798 and 6,349 have already recovered. There are 21,484 active patients. 36 percent of the actively infected, 52 percent of the dead and 37 percent of those recovered are from Budapest. 740 coronavirus patients are being hospitalized, 47 of whom are on ventilators.

12,394 PCR tests have been performed in the last 24 hours and funding for the tests continues to be provided. The number of diseases is increasing in Europe. A large number of positive aspects were also measured in Slovakia, Croatia, Ukraine and Poland. 14,000 cases are measured daily in France and more than 3,500 in the Netherlands. Every effort should continue to be made to prevent transmission, such as keeping distance, hygiene, wearing a mask.

The elderly should take the medicine and get a flu shot.

The deceased were between 61 and 94 years old, all suffered from chronic diseases and most suffered from cardiovascular diseases. The national medical director drew attention to the importance of good cooperation with the doctor so that the right medicines are prescribed and chronic patients follow the doctors’ recommendations. This will reduce the risk of the coronavirus infection becoming severe. Cecília Müller recommends that everyone strengthen their immune system, take vitamins C and D, and drink enough fluids. The thirst of older people is reduced, so they should pay special attention to this, prepare tea or juice, which they consume every day.

Cecília Müller also recommends that the elderly take the opportunity when the flu is available, especially if they have a chronic illness, but everyone else may want to get vaccinated. Flu vaccines will be available at family doctors from the second half of October, by appointment.

Currently, 33 kindergartens and 6 schools have extraordinary breaks, 125 classes and 5 schools operate on a digital schedule. School thermometry has started, feverish children cannot visit institutions. Above a temperature of 37.8 degrees, the fever should be re-measured a quarter of an hour later to see if the child still has a fever.

Favipiravir, which has proven to be a promising drug, is still in an experimental phase and is being used in hospitals, Cecília Müller said. Medications that can be taken with the advice of a specialist should be obtained in person, if you have one, the GP can prescribe the medications and the diabetic test strip. A total of 1234 health workers have been sickened so far, currently 481 patients, one older has died and the others have recovered.
