The Hungarian Foreign Minister announced on Facebook that Hungary will help the Czech epidemic with 40,000 doses of vaccine in May.

“Because we acted on time and the government bought large quantities of oriental vaccines in addition to the joint procurement in Brussels, we are at the forefront of vaccinating the population in the European Union. Therefore, like Austria and Slovenia, we are helping our Czech friends, who will receive 40,000 vaccinations in the first half of May, because by then we will have enough vaccines in Hungary to be able to vaccinate everyone. ”

– wrote Péter Szijjártó on the community page.

Szijjártó did not share details about what vaccine we will give the Czechs. In fact, Czechs do not use vaccines that are not approved in the European Union.

The Czech Republic, like Slovakia and Austria, receives hundreds of thousands of doses of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine from the rest of the European Union. This was also confirmed on Wednesday evening by Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis on Twitter.

To date, more than 700,000 people in the Czech Republic have been vaccinated with coronavirus vaccines, which means that their vaccination rate is relatively low compared to Hungary. Infection and mortality statistics as a proportion of the population were very high in the third wave, and daily incidence rates have only recently started to decline.

The Czech Republic has ordered around three million Pfizer / BioNTech vaccines under the common EU procedure. Additionally, Moderna and AstraZeneca are vaccinated in the Czech Republic.
