He also spoke about the fact that since the disinfection work carried out in public educational institutions during the fall break, a request from the army has been received from several other places. Disinfection tasks are carried out continuously by soldiers, including volunteer reservists.
In addition, the soldiers are also involved in border security, border closure tasks and the provision of humanitarian corridors, the minister said.
With regard to soldiers patrolling with a weapon, the Defense Minister emphasized that the weapons are equipped with individual weapons. He said duty regulations had been enacted since 1974, and the 2005 HM instruction also states that a soldier must conduct patrols, patrols with individual equipment. There is nothing new in this, the minister noted.
