The 30-year-old Australian is one of the best in the field and has a wealth of experience. Since its debut in 2011, it has held there with 171 grand prizes. He had 7 wins, 3 starts, 29 podiums and 1,040 points this weekend.

Red Bull saw the potential in him and allowed him to make his Formula One debut. In 2011, he was not just a test driver for Toro Rosso, because an opportunity presented itself in HRT where the “bulls” got a seat for their talent. .

Daniel Ricciardo Although he did not score a point with one of the weakest cars on the field, he showed that he was ready for the Toro Rosso race seat. He spent two years at Faenza, where he displayed his talent multiple times.

Red Bull picked him up in late 2013 after Mark Webber left Formula One. Ricciardo might have been a compatriot, but he felt he needed other challenges and made a career at WEC.

Ricciardo said yes, of course, and from 2014 onwards he was able to compete up front in Red Bull-Racing colors. His debut was very strong, beating four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, who was already a Ferrari employee after the end of the season.

For 2015 Daniil Kvjat became Ricciardo’s teammate. It was a confusing year for the Australian, who surprisingly came out of the Russian. He also had several weaker results in the first half of the season, and overall that was the main reason he scored fewer points.

In 2016, after the first two races, Kvjat was promoted to Toro Rosso again. Max Verstappen represented a different level, winning his first Grand Prix with Red Bull even though he could only test the car in the simulator before.

Although there were a couple of races when Verstappen and Ricciardo got too close and separated, they were very strong partners. The good relationship was maintained between them at all times. However, in 2018, Daniel was knocked out again, and although the team had fulfilled virtually every wish and had already made the video required for the announcement, he changed his mind during a flight and accepted Renault’s offer.

Ricciardo signed a contract with Enstone in exchange for more than 20 million euros a year, but that was not his main plan. However, Ferrari did not claim his services. THE McLaren I was already very interested in him at the time, but the pilot saw more potential in the French.

This relationship has been quite short and he will leave Enstone at the end of the year to continue working with McLaren, which already has Mercedes engines. The opportunity to change was made possible by Carlos Sainz’s agreement with Jr. Ferrari, preceded by an announcement by Sebastian Vettel and the Italians. Ricciardo was also on the Ferrari list, but the Spaniard was chosen and, at the same time, the stay of Lando Norris was confirmed.

“I am very grateful for the time I spent with the Renault F1 Team and for being able to join the team, but we are not done yet and I cannot wait to return to the grid this year.” The next chapter has not yet happened in my life, so we must finish the current one with force. Thank you, “said Ricciardo, whose successor has not yet been named.

Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren: Daniel’s contract is another step forward in our long-term plans and adds an exciting new dimension to the team alongside Lando Norris. This is great news for our team, our partners and, of course, our fans. I want to thank Carlos for the great job he did at McLaren and the way he helped us rebuild. He is a true team player and I wish him the best in his future after McLaren.

Andreas Seidl, McLaren team leader: Daniel has demonstrated his ability to win races, and his experience, commitment and energy will be a valuable part of McLaren and our goals to return to the forefront. With Lando and Daniel, I think we will have two drivers who will continue to impress our fans and help the team grow. Carlos was a true professional, it was an honor working with him and we are still looking forward to competing with him this year. We wish him all the best for the next stage of his career when he leaves McLaren.

Renault team leader Cyril Abiteboul: In our sport, in today’s exceptional situation, continued confidence, unity and dedication are the most important values for the factory team than ever before. I am confident that we can achieve even more together in the 2020 season. Our ambitions and strategy in the Renault DP World F1 Team remain unchanged.
