Quarantine rules are changing, as of today everyone at the border will be in quarantine

The Magyar Közlöny, published on Tuesday, contains an amendment to the law, according to which there is no procedure of individual administrative authority to enter the country as of today: the police officer who performs border control automatically quarantines the new entrants, write Mfor.

The person entering quarantine must inform the police officer the address of the quarantine home and must travel directly there; the trip may be interrupted for medical, technical reasons or, in the case of trips by public transport, scheduled. When you get home, you should stick the sticker the policeman gave you on your door.

According to the newspaper, a novelty is that it will be mandatory to use quarantine software, that is, to install the application that allows the police to track whether the person in quarantine has left the designated apartment. With the help of the application, they can also check if we are at home, take a selfie, which is analyzed by a facial recognition software; this can be used to filter if the person did not just leave the phone in the apartment. The software should only be installed if we have a suitable tool for this; it is not written by law how authority will be secured.

The penalty for violating quarantine rules is changing: the fine can range from 5,000 to 150,000 guilders, which can be imposed several times a day. A maximum fine of HUF 600,000 can be collected in one day and must be paid within 15 days to the account number published on the police website. However, the law also states that violating the quarantine rules does not constitute a crime.
